🌞 Summer 2025 Recap: Tech, Creativity, and Innovation at iCode Glen Ellyn
This summer at iCode Glen Ellyn, our classrooms buzzed with creativity, collaboration, and innovation as campers explored everything from game design and coding to robotics, digital art, and entrepreneurship. Week after week, students transformed from curious learners into creators, problem-solvers, and innovators, gaining hands-on experience in technology and teamwork.
From designing immersive Roblox worlds to programming drones, from sculpting digital art to pitching business ideas Shark Tank–style, our campers proved that summer learning can be both fun and meaningful. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from Summer 2025.
🎮 Game Design & Coding Adventures

Roblox Design Intro: Capture the Flag
Students stepped into Roblox Studio as creators, not just players—building obstacle courses, scripting with Lua, and experimenting with power-ups and scoring systems. Their projects showed off creativity, logic, and collaboration. -
Minecraft Survival: The Building Blocks of Coding
Using Minecraft as their canvas, campers explored survival mechanics, coding challenges, and even creative mods like super-speed apples and custom swords. Each project reinforced problem-solving, teamwork, and a love for coding. -
Roblox Editor: Create and Code Your Own World
From building the Parthenon to programming zombie AIs, students dove deep into Lua scripting, variables, and environmental design. The creativity was off the charts—games ranged from rainbow-themed obstacle courses to cinematic loading screens and admin-controlled worlds! -
Fortnite Designer: Game Development
Using Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor, students mastered level design, AI customization, and game logic. From airports to battle maps, their projects balanced gameplay challenge with creative world-building.
🧱 Robotics, Engineering & Emerging Tech

Drone Code with Python
Campers combined Python programming with real drone piloting—writing loops, functions, and conditionals to choreograph flight paths. They also explored aerodynamics through paper airplane competitions, proving science and creativity make the perfect pair.
🎨 Digital Art & Creative Expression

Artist Studio: 2D & 3D Design
Students explored both traditional and digital mediums—sculpting with clay, painting in Photopea, composing tracks in Chrome Music Lab, and modeling in SculptGL. Their creations blended art, music, and tech, showing that creativity knows no bounds. -
YouTube Creator: Learn Production
Campers became content creators, learning the full process from brainstorming channel ideas to filming, editing, and branding. With green screens, transitions, and skits, they built confidence in storytelling while also practicing responsible digital citizenship.
💡 Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Shark Tank: Create and Pitch
Young entrepreneurs brainstormed original products, designed business plans, and pitched to a panel of “sharks.” Using Canva to create professional slide decks, they learned branding, marketing, and persuasive communication. Their final presentations showcased confidence, innovation, and professionalism.
🌟 The Big Picture
This summer, our students didn’t just play games, fly drones, or make art—they created, coded, and collaborated, gaining skills that will last far beyond summer. They learned how to solve problems, share ideas, and build with both logic and imagination.
At iCode Glen Ellyn, camps like these are about more than just technology. They’re about giving kids the confidence to see themselves as makers, leaders, and innovators in a digital world.
