Why we love it π The best way to understand physics is to get your hands dirty and build something! The MCL West Windsor Branch is hosting a phenomenal, hands-on “STEM Explorers Workshop Series” led by a local teen presenter. This week’s session dives deep into the science of levers, asking kids to explore how they work and how they make moving heavy objects easier. We absolutely love collaborative science experiments because they encourage kids to ask “Why?”, test hypotheses, and learn by doing!

Mechanical Advantage & Robotics: A lever is a simple machine that makes work easier. In our Robotics and Hardware Tracks, we teach kids how to take simple machinesβlike levers, gears, and pulleysβand attach them to motors to build complex, moving robots! Understanding mechanical advantage is exactly how engineers build robot arms that can lift heavy objects.

Electrical Charges & Circuitry: Future workshops in this library series will explore electrical charges! We teach our students how to harness that exact electrical energy in our STEAM Junior and Engineering Tracks. Kids learn how to wire actual breadboards, connect LED lights, and build complete circuits to bring their hardware prototypes to life.
