Why we love it ๐ช Science on a massive scale! Liberty Science Center goes all out for Astronomy Day and Earth Day. This weekend is the perfect time to visit the Weston Family Lab for Earth and Space Exploration to see “Science on a Sphere”โ a stunning, six-foot suspended globe that displays real-time weather, geological, and space data from NOAA and NASA. Add in a trip to the massive Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and hands-on greenhouse activities for the little ones, and you have a perfect weekend of family discovery.
How this event aligns with iCode Princeton ๐โ๏ธ Space exploration and climate science are completely powered by technology! The rovers we send to Mars, the satellites tracking our weather, and the incredible visual projections in the planetarium all rely on complex coding and engineering. When your child comes back inspired by the cosmos, we can show them how to build it:
-
๐ Simulate the Solar System: Did the planetarium blow their mind? In our Game Development Track, kids use logic, physics engines, and code to design their own interactive 3D universes, space stations, and zero-gravity environments using platforms like Roblox, Minecraft, and Unreal Engine.
-
๐ฐ๏ธ Data & Coding: That giant “Science on a Sphere” globe runs on massive amounts of data. In our advanced Python and Java Belts, older students learn how to write the real-world code used by scientists and engineers to analyze data and solve complex problems.
-
๐ค Build a Space Rover: Space exploration requires heavy-duty hardware! In our VEX Robotics programs, students learn the mechanical engineering and programming skills needed to build robots that can navigate obstacles, pick up objects, and operate autonomouslyโjust like a lunar rover!
-
๐ฑ Cause, Effect & Earth Science: For our youngest learners, the greenhouse activities at LSC are a great intro to systems. We continue that hands-on learning in our STEAM Junior classes, where little ones explore cause-and-effect through Snap Circuits, block coding, and tactile engineering.
Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode ๐๐ Start with an inspiring weekend exploring the stars and our planet, then bring that curiosity to iCode Princeton where we turn big ideas into real-world tech skills!
