Why we love it 💛 Science isn’t just learned in a lab; it’s discovered in the world all around us! The Princeton Public Library has partnered with the Princeton Conservation Society at Princeton University to host “Eco Explorers,” an incredible monthly program for early elementary students. Through reading, hands-on activities, and crafts, young kids get to dive into this month’s theme: Why the Environment Is Important. We absolutely love this event because exploring how nature works is the absolute best way to spark a child’s curiosity about cause-and-effect and complex systems!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ An ecosystem is just a massive, interconnected network—exactly like the internet or a complex software architecture!

• Systems Thinking: In nature, everything is connected. When one part of an environment changes, it creates a ripple effect. In our STEAM Junior Program, we teach kids this exact same “Systems Thinking.” They learn how to stack physical coding blocks in a specific order, realizing that changing just one block alters the entire outcome of their digital program!

• Tech for Good: Solving global environmental challenges will require out-of-the-box thinking and the next generation of innovators! We encourage our students to take the inspiration they find in nature and use their early programming skills to dream up tech solutions for a greener, more sustainable future.
