Why we love it πŸ’› Science grows right from the ground up! The beloved Terhune Orchards is kicking off their fantastic “Read & Pick” educational series with a special Earth Day-inspired morning all about growing a garden. Kids will enjoy a storytime highlighting nature’s bounty, followed by a hands-on farm activity where everyone gets to play farmer and plant their very own seeds to take home! We absolutely love farm-based science because it teaches early learners about the lifecycle of plants, biology, and how our local ecosystems thrive!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ A garden is the perfect biological example of inputs, outputs, and sequencing!

  • Inputs and Outputs: A seed requires specific inputs (water, sunlight, and soil) to produce an output (a sprouting plant). In our STEAM Junior Program, we teach kids how to apply this exact same logic to technology! They learn how computers require specific inputs (like clicking a mouse or typing a command) to create exciting digital outputs on the screen.

  • Algorithmic Patience: A garden doesn’t grow in a day, and a video game doesn’t get coded in an hour! Following a planting sequence teaches young kids the patience and step-by-step logic required to execute multi-step processesβ€”the exact same mindset they need to build, code, and test complex robotics.

Join the funβ€”then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Plant the seeds of discovery at the farm, then bring that world-class curiosity to iCode Princeton where we turn biological systems into lifelong tech skills!
