Why we love it 💛 Trash to treasure! Just in time for Mother’s Day and the spring season, the West Windsor Branch is hosting an incredible teen craft session focused entirely on sustainability. Teens will take old, discarded glass bottles and upcycle them, using paint and creativity to engineer beautiful, functional vases. We absolutely love upcycling projects like this because they encourage teens to look at everyday objects differently, relying on their imagination and problem-solving skills to build something entirely new out of scrap!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ Taking an old component and finding a brand-new way to use it is the exact definition of “Hardware Hacking”!

• The Maker Mindset: When you upcycle a piece of glass into a functional piece of art, you are actively practicing the “Maker Mindset”—the ability to see the potential in raw materials. We foster this exact same mindset in our STEAM and Robotics labs, teaching students how to experiment, tinker, and build with their hands.

• Hardware & Creativity: If your teen loves piecing together creative physical projects, they will absolutely thrive in our VEX Robotics Track! We teach students how to transition from arts and crafts to real mechanical engineering, constructing sturdy chassis, connecting complex motors, and understanding physics to build their own functional machines.
