To celebrate the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, the SCLSNJ Warren Township Branch is hosting a fantastic, hands-on crafting session for families presented by the Center for Cultural and Creative Exchange. Kids will get to explore the legend of the festival, discover how families celebrate, and make scented sachets that were historically believed to protect children from illness. We absolutely love cultural maker events like this because they perfectly blend global history, visual art, and physical construction into one incredibly engaging hour!

The Maker Mindset: Taking raw materials and transforming them into a 3D structural object requires incredible spatial logic. At iCode, we teach our students the “Maker Mindset.” Before our students write a line of code or assemble a robot in our STEAM Junior and Robotics Tracks, they have to sketch out their ideas and build prototypesβjust like engineering a traditional craft!
