Why we love it πŸ’› Mathematics doesn’t have to just live on a whiteboard! This coming weekend, the Princeton Public Library is hosting an incredible “STEM Circle” right inside their high-tech Spark Lab. What makes this event so special is that it is guided by top-tier student instructors from PRISMS (Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science)! Upper elementary kids will get to explore complex concepts like patterns, geometry, and symmetry through highly interactive games and tactile building activities. We absolutely love this event because it takes abstract math and makes it tangible, all while providing kids with inspiring near-peer mentorship!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ Mathematics is the foundational language of computer programming!

  • Patterns and Algorithms: Recognizing a pattern is the very first step in writing an algorithm. In our Python and Game Design Tracks, we teach kids how to spot these exact patterns and turn them into “Loops”β€”code that tells a computer to repeat a specific action efficiently without having to type it out a hundred times!

  • Geometry in Game Design: Building shapes and understanding symmetry is crucial for digital design. When our students build 3D worlds in Roblox or map out a game in our digital arts labs, they are actively using geometry to calculate character hitboxes, spatial awareness, and level design!

Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Explore hands-on math at the library, then bring that world-class curiosity to iCode Princeton where we turn mathematical logic into lifelong tech innovation!
