Why we love it ๐Ÿ’› Technology doesnโ€™t have to be a wall between us, it can be a bridge! The Pennington Public Library’s “Tech Night In” is a community-wide invitation for families to step into each otherโ€™s digital spaces to spark conversation and creativity. Instead of scrolling solo, they are providing awesome “Connection Challenges” like co-op gaming, AI art creation, and digital scavenger hunts. We absolutely love any initiative that helps families move from being โ€œpassive usersโ€ to โ€œactive creatorsโ€ alongside their kids. It’s the perfect way to practice digital wellness!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton ๐ŸŒˆโš™๏ธ Moving kids from tech consumers to tech creators is our core mission! If your family has a blast trying out the library’s Tech Night In challenges, here is how we can take those exact concepts and turn them into real-world tech skills:

  • ๐ŸŽฎ From Co-Op Gaming to Game Dev: Did you love playing Minecraft or a co-op game together? In our Game Development Track, kids don’t just play the games, they learn the logic to code the rules, design the 3D levels, and build their very own playable worlds in engines like Roblox and Construct 3!

  • ๐Ÿค– Code Together: One of the library’s challenges is to try a simple coding or logic-based puzzle. If your child loves solving digital puzzles, they will thrive in our STEAM After-School Belt Program, where they progress from beginner block coding all the way to writing real syntax in Python and Java.

  • ๐ŸŽจ AI Art & Digital Media: Did the AI Art Challenge spark some creativity? In our Content Creator & Digital Media tracks, students learn the professional software behind digital storytelling, video editing, and graphic design.

Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿš€ Start with an awesome family tech night at home, then bring that collaborative, creative energy to iCode Princeton where we turn healthy screen time into lifelong tech skills!
