The Mercer County Library System frequently hosts immersive “Teen Escape Room” challenges where participants have to work as a team, decode ciphers, and solve complex spatial puzzles before the clock runs out. We absolutely love escape room events because they challenge kids to use deductive reasoning, lateral thinking, and collaborative logic in a high-energy, hands-on environment!

Students learn the basics of “Cryptography,” discovering how software engineers scramble (encrypt) and decode (decrypt) sensitive digital data to keep passwords and private networks secure from hackers.
