Playtime is the absolute best time for foundational learning! The Princeton Public Library is hosting a wonderful drop-in play session themed entirely around going to the market. Young children and their caregivers can engage in relaxed, social learningβorganizing play food, browsing items, and pretending to shop together. We absolutely love market-themed play because asking a child to sort their groceries or pick out specific items from a basket is one of the earliest, most hands-on forms of logical categorization!

Sorting Algorithms & Data Categorization: When a toddler groups all the fruit together and separates it from the vegetables, they are physically sorting data! In our Python and Scratch Tracks, we teach kids how to write the digital version of this: “Sorting Algorithms.” They learn how to write code that automatically categorizes massive amounts of information, ensuring video game inventories and software databases remain perfectly organized.

In our Web Development Tracks, we teach older students how to build these exact digital storefronts! They learn how to use HTML and CSS to design a User Interface (UI), creating interactive buttons, shopping carts, and visual menus that make their websites intuitive and easy for customers to navigate.
