Why we love it π A child’s first step into storytelling and creative problem-solving happens through physical play! We absolutely love that the Princeton Public Library hosts these relaxed, drop-in playtime sessions for the youngest members of our community. This week’s theme is “Animal Adventures,” giving toddlers and their caregivers a chance to interact, use their imaginations, and practice early communication skills while pretending to explore the animal kingdom. Giving young kids a safe, social environment to invent stories and characters is the ultimate foundation for out-of-the-box thinking!
How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πβοΈ The way a child invents a story for a pretend animal is the exact same foundational logic they will use to design a video game or animate a digital character!

Sprites & Characters: When a child decides what an animal will do next, they are learning how to sequence events and behaviors. In our STEAM Junior Program, we meet our youngest innovators right where they are, teaching them how to use beginner coding blocks to sequence commands and animate their very first digital characters (called “sprites”)!

From Physical to Digital: Is your child a natural creator? As they grow, we teach them how to take that imagination to the next level. In our Game Development and Digital Arts tracks, kids learn how to design, draw, and program custom digital pets, creatures, and immersive environments using professional game engines and software.
