Why we love it π Nature is the ultimate engineer! Co-presented by the library and Princeton High School students, the “eSTEAM Club” is hosting a phenomenal session entirely focused on animal camouflage. Young students will learn how animals adapt to survive in their environments and then get to create their own camouflaging animal through hands-on activities. We absolutely love youth-led mentorship events like this because seeing high schoolers teach STEM concepts incredibly inspires our younger makers!

Color Theory & Digital Art: To camouflage an animal, you have to perfectly match the color palette of its surroundings. In our Game Design and Digital Arts Tracks, we teach kids how to manipulate digital pixels and Hex codes, ensuring they understand color theory when building the environments for their games.

Game Mechanics & Stealth: If a digital character needs to hide from an enemy, you have to code a stealth mechanic! We teach our students how to program collision detection and visibility variables, giving them the power to code the exact same survival mechanics they observe in nature.
