Why we love it π It is never too early to start learning about how the world works! The Hickory Corner Branch is hosting a fantastic “Discovery Time” morning dedicated specifically to preschoolers. This highly interactive session focuses on introducing the basic elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) in a safe, tactile, and incredibly fun environment. We absolutely love introductory events like this because they encourage toddlers to explore shapes, balance, and problem-solving through hands-on play, building a genuine love for learning right from the start!

Tactile Logic: When a young child builds a tower that balances or mixes colors to create a new one, they are learning cause and effect. In our STEAM Junior Program, we use this exact same logic! We teach early elementary kids that pressing specific buttons or snapping physical blocks together creates a direct, predictable outcome on their digital screen.

Building Confidence: The absolute best thing a STEM program can do is build confidence. We love that this library event encourages young kids to experiment without the fear of making a mistake, fostering a resilient, “maker” mindset before they even hit kindergarten!
