Why we love it πŸ’› Chemistry is just baking for scientists! The Princeton Public Library is opening up the Spark Lab for a teen-focused “Craft, Chat, and Chill” hour dedicated entirely to making DIY Slime and picky pads. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and teens are invited to hang out, listen to music, and experiment with different chemical ratios to create fun fidget toys to help them relax. We absolutely love slime-making events because they sneakily teach kids the scientific method, testing hypotheses, adjusting mixtures, and observing the physical results!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ Mixing a chemical compound requires the exact same precision as writing a functional script!

  • Managing Variables: To make slime, you have to carefully balance variables (activator, glue, water). If a variable is off, the slime fails! In our Python and Data Tracks, we teach teens how to define, track, and manipulate digital variables, ensuring their code calculates data with perfect accuracy.

  • Testing & Debugging: If your slime is too sticky, you have to figure out why and add more activator. When a program crashes, a software engineer does the exact same thing! At iCode, we teach our students how to patiently “debug” their projects, isolating problems and testing solutions until their code runs flawlessly.

Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Mix the perfect batch at the library, then bring that world-class creativity to iCode Princeton where we turn trial-and-error into lifelong tech innovation!
