Where: All Children’s Art Center NJ (15 John Street, Bound Brook, NJ)

Event link: NJ Family – Slime and Dance Party

Who it’s for: Kids of all ages (Perfect for ages 5-10!)

Why we love it 💛 Who doesn’t love a good slime recipe and a dance party? We absolutely love this high-energy, hands-on event hosted by the All Children’s Art Center. Kids get to mix, stretch, and create their own custom slime before the music turns up so they can dance the afternoon away! Events like this are the perfect after-school outlet for kids to get messy, express their creativity, and engage their senses in a fun, screen-free environment.

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ Making slime isn’t just a messy craft—it’s introductory chemistry! Following a “recipe” to get the perfect slime consistency teaches kids how to sequence instructions. That is the exact same logic we use to teach coding! Here is how we turn their creative energy into real-world tech skills:

  • 🧪 From Chemistry to Code: To make slime, you have to follow the steps in the exact right order. In our Python and Java Belts, kids learn how to write precise sequences of code (just like a recipe!) to build apps, solve complex logic problems, and control digital worlds.

  • 🎧 Dance to Your Own Beat: Did they love the dance party? In our Content Creator & Digital Media tracks, we teach kids how to use professional software to edit audio, mix their own music, and create awesome digital videos to share their creativity with the world.

  • 🧩 Tactile Tech for Early Learners: For our younger slime-makers, we continue that hands-on learning in our STEAM Junior Program. We blend physical engineering (like Snap Circuits and robotics) with beginner-friendly block coding so they can see exactly how their physical actions create digital results.

Join the fun—then keep the momentum going at iCode 🎒🚀 Start with a messy, musical afternoon of slime-making, then bring that creative energy to iCode Princeton where we turn hands-on fun into lifelong tech skills!
