Why we love it π There is no better way to learn engineering than by building it brick by brick! The Mercer County Library Robbinsville Branch is hosting an awesome, hands-on “Lego Club” where kids are invited to come and build with Miss Cathy. We absolutely love LEGO events because they provide a highly accessible, low-pressure environment for kids to experiment with structural design, spatial reasoning, and creative problem-solving!

Modular Code & Component Architecture: A single 2×4 LEGO brick doesn’t look like much on its own, but when combined with others, it can build a massive spaceship! In computer science, we call this “Modular Programming.” In our Scratch and Python Tracks, we teach students how to write small, reusable blocks of code (like a single LEGO brick) and snap them together to build massive, complex software programs.

Debugging & Structural Integrity: If a LEGO tower falls over, you look for the weak brick and replace it. In coding, this is called “Debugging”! Because our students learn to build their games modularly, they can easily find the exact “brick” of code that is causing an error and fix it without having to rebuild the entire game from scratch.
