Why we love it π LEGO bricks are the original prototyping tool! The MCLS Lawrence Headquarters Branch is hosting a highly creative monthly LEGO program where kids can choose to tackle a specific structural challenge or simply build their own imaginative masterpieces. We absolutely love LEGO free play events because they provide the perfect, low-stakes environment for young builders to test structural integrity, practice spatial reasoning, and learn hands-on physics!

Prototyping & Structural Design: Before a robot can move, it needs a solid frame. In our Robotics and Hardware Tracks, we teach kids how to use physical components to build sturdy structures. Figuring out how LEGO pieces lock together teaches kids the exact same structural logic they will use to build real mechanical systems.

Iterative Problem Solving: When a LEGO tower falls over, kids have to figure out why and rebuild it stronger. At iCode, we teach our students this exact same resilience! Whether they are building a physical robot or writing a script of code, we encourage them to test, fail, and iterate until their design works perfectly.
