Why we love it 💛 Every masterpiece starts with a little imagination and a lot of color! The breathtaking Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton is hosting a special “Tots For Sculpture” morning workshop themed around “Flying Colors.” The morning starts with a fun, interactive reading of Hervé Tullet’s brilliant book Press Here, where kids push, tilt, and shake the pages to see what happens next. Afterward, early learners will get to build their own flyable kites while exploring shapes, patterns, and color mixing using tissue paper. We absolutely love early art events because they help toddlers develop crucial fine motor skills while exploring creative expression and cause-and-effect!

• Inputs and Outputs: The book Press Here is essentially a paper computer! When a child “presses” a dot on the page and turns to see a new result, they are learning about Inputs and Outputs. In our STEAM Junior Program, we teach kids how to apply this exact same logic to technology, showing them how pressing a key or clicking a mouse creates a predictable digital reaction on the screen.

• Art Meets Tech: Exploring how shapes, patterns, and colors interact helps young kids develop spatial awareness and visual logic. If your child loves the “A” (Art) in STEAM, they belong in our Content Creator and Digital Media tracks as they get older! We teach students how to take their artistic eye and use professional software to manipulate pixels, build beautiful User Interfaces (UI), and create visually stunning digital worlds.
