Why we love it π Put your puzzle-solving skills to the ultimate test! The Montgomery Branch is transforming its Storytime Room into a fully interactive, Medieval Fantasy Escape Room. Teens will have to work together as a team to uncover hidden clues, solve complex logic puzzles, and crack the codes before time runs out. We absolutely love Escape Rooms because they are the ultimate test of “Computational Thinking”βrequiring players to look at a room full of random information, filter out the noise, and string together a logical solution!
How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πβοΈ Beating an escape room requires the exact same logic used by cybersecurity experts and ethical hackers!

Cryptography & Encryption: If you find a locked box with a strange symbol on it, you have to decode the cipher! In our Cybersecurity Tracks, we teach older students how data is scrambled, encrypted, and decoded across networks. Cracking an escape room puzzle exercises this exact same cryptographic logic!

Debugging & Conditionals: Escape rooms run on “If/Then” conditional statements. (If I pull this lever, then that door opens). When a puzzle doesn’t work, teams have to “debug” their thought process and try a new approach. At iCode, we teach our students to apply this exact same resilience to their software engineering, hunting down bugs in their code until the program runs flawlessly.
