Why iCode Princeton โค๏ธ this event โ๏ธ Often called New Jersey’s “mini-Smithsonian,” the Info Age Science and History campus is the ultimate playground for tech-curious kids! For NJ Makers Day 2026, they are opening their doors for a massive weekend of free, hands-on STEM challenges. Kids can dive deep into the history of technology by building soldered circuits, writing actual code on retro 1980’s computers, and trying their hand at crypto-coding! It is an amazing way for kids to see where modern technology came from while physically building things with their own hands.

From Retro Computing to Modern Coding: Writing programs on 1980’s machines at the museum teaches the raw logic of computer science. We take those exact same foundational concepts into the 21st century! In our Programming Belts, kids learn modern languages like Python, Java, and JavaScript to build the apps and software of tomorrow.

Hands-On Hardware: Info Age’s circuit-building and laser-cutting stations are all about understanding how hardware works. At iCode, our STEAM Junior track uses Snap Circuits to teach the fundamentals of electricity, while our older students dive into 2D/3D Design & 3D Printing to prototype their own hardware designs.

Crypto-Coding & Security: Learning historical cryptography and codes at the museum? That is the perfect launchpad for our Cyber securityย modules! Our students learn how modern data encryption works, how networks communicate, and how to stay safe in a digital world.
