Why we love it 💛 It is time to celebrate our planet! The beautiful Morven Museum & Garden has teamed up with Sustainable Princeton to host a massive, free, Earth-friendly community festival. Families can explore the historic grounds, meet composting chickens, enjoy live music, check out an all-ages book and puzzle swap, and even watch the legendary “Trashion Show” where participants model outfits made entirely from recycled materials! We absolutely love this event because it brings the whole community together to turn massive concepts—like global ecology and sustainable engineering—into a hands-on, highly engaging day of fun.

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ Understanding how the Earth works and how to protect it is the ultimate lesson in “Systems Thinking”!

• Systems and Ecology: Our planet is a massive system where the weather, wildlife, and human actions all impact each other. In our STEAM Junior Program, we teach kids how to apply this exact same systems-based logic to technology! They learn how different lines of code must work together to make a character move, change a digital environment, or keep a game running smoothly.

• Prototyping & Recycling: The “Trashion Show” is a brilliant example of taking raw, discarded materials and engineering them into something entirely new! At iCode, we harness this exact same “Maker Mindset.” We teach our students that technology is a tool meant to solve real-world problems, encouraging them to use their creativity and engineering skills to build hardware and software that can actually help the planet.
