Why we love it 💛 We absolutely love supporting the Mercer County Library System! Events like the Creation Station are the perfect way for kids to step away from passive screen time and engage their brains in hands-on, community-based discovery. Children of all ages are invited to drop in and make a craft project with no registration required. It provides a fantastic, low-pressure environment for kids to flex their creative muscles, explore physical materials, and bring their imaginative ideas to life. Curiosity starts local, and there is no better place to foster a “maker mindset” than right here at the library!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ The hands-on problem-solving and creativity kids practice when crafting is the exact same foundation we use to teach coding and engineering! When your child is ready to take their crafting to the next level, here is how we upgrade their library discoveries into real-world technology:

• 🧩 Playful Foundations, Real Skills: The early logic and tactile play kids experience at crafting stations perfectly mirrors our STEAM Junior Program. We meet our youngest learners (ages 5+) right where they are, using physical Snap Circuits and block coding to teach the cause-and-effect mechanics behind the tech they use every day.

• 📐 From Crafts to CAD: Do they love creating physical shapes and figures? We teach students how to translate those physical building skills into digital tools! In our 2D & 3D Design tracks, kids learn how to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to prototype and 3D-print their own custom parts, figures, and keychains.

• 🛠️ The Maker Mindset: If they love physical building, we take that hands-on energy and add real hardware! In our VEX Robotics track, kids learn how to physically construct robots and write the Python/Java code to make them move and compete.
