Why we love it π Every great digital design starts with physical art! Just in time for Mother’s Day, Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton is offering a fantastic, hands-on “ArtBox” experience. Families can pre-order an ArtBox loaded with either miniature canvases and paints, or card-making supplies, and create beautiful, heartfelt projects together anywhere in the park or at home. We absolutely love collaborative maker events like this because they encourage young creators to experiment with color theory, layout, and tactile design!

UI/UX Design & Layout: When a child plans out a Mother’s Day card using stamps, cut-out shapes, and stickers, they are organizing visual elements in 2D space. In our Web Development and Digital Arts Tracks, we teach older students how to do this digitally! They learn how to use HTML, CSS, and digital wireframing to build stunning, perfectly balanced user interfaces for the apps and websites they code.

The Maker Mindset: Building a piece of art from scratch requires vision and creativity. We teach our students in the STEAM Junior Track how to take that exact same creative energy and apply it to tech, transitioning from physical craft supplies to tablets, tactile robotics, and block-coding to animate their own digital masterpieces.
