Who it’s for: Kids & Tweens

Why we love it πŸ’› There is a profound sense of pride that comes with taking an idea from your brain and physically sticking it onto your water bottle! The Princeton Public Library is hosting an incredible “Sticker Workshop” inside their cutting-edge Myra & Van Williams Spark Lab. We absolutely love maker-space events like this because they bridge the gap between digital design and physical manufacturing, allowing kids to learn how hardware tools are used to bring 2D artwork into the real world.

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ Designing and printing a custom sticker is the exact real-world application of Digital Vectoring and CNC Hardware!

  • Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG): If you try to print a blurry photo, it looks terrible! Professional stickers are made using “Vectors”β€”graphics built with math instead of pixels, so they never lose quality. In our Digital Arts and Web Development Tracks, we teach older students how to create their own SVGs! They learn how to use professional software tools to build high-resolution logos, game sprites, and UI graphics that look perfect on any screen size.

  • CNC Prototyping & Coordinate Mapping: How does a sticker machine know exactly where to cut around the artwork? It reads X and Y coordinates! In our Hardware and Robotics Tracks, we teach kids the logic behind “Computer Numerical Control” (CNC) machines. They learn how hardware relies on precise mathematical data to make physical cuts, moving mechanical parts to execute a design with perfect digital accuracy.

Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Design a masterpiece in the Spark Lab, then bring that world-class creativity to iCode Princeton where we teach you how to render the graphics!
