Why we love it 💛 Virtual Reality is no longer science fiction—it is the modern frontier of gaming! The Princeton Public Library is opening up their high-tech Spark Lab for a “VRcade” session exclusively for teens. Participants will get to strap on VR headsets and test their rhythm and spatial awareness in the incredibly popular game Beat Saber. We absolutely love VR events because they allow teens to step completely inside a digital environment, shifting their perspective from 2D screens to full, 360-degree digital immersion!
How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ Playing a VR game is the first step toward building one!
-
Spatial 3D Logic: Traditional video games operate on an X and Y axis. VR introduces the Z-axis (depth) in a completely tangible way! In our Game Design and Unreal Engine Tracks, we teach older students how to navigate and code these exact 3D coordinate systems, allowing them to render environments that look and feel real.
-
Hardware & Inputs: A VR headset relies on gyroscopes, motion tracking, and spatial sensors. At iCode, our Hardware and Robotics Labs teach students exactly how these physical sensors capture human movement and translate it into digital data!
Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode 🎒🚀 Explore the virtual world at the library, then bring that world-class curiosity to iCode Princeton where we teach you how to build your own immersive games!
