Why we love it ๐Ÿ’› It is never too early to start exploring! The Small Explorers program at the New Jersey State Museum is specifically designed for families with children ages 1 to 5. Each 45-minute session starts in the Discovery Den play space with an interactive story time, moves into a playful gallery exploration, and ends with hands-on, thematic activity stations. We absolutely love community events that prioritize curiosity, tactile play, and caregiver-child interaction.

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton ๐ŸŒˆโš™๏ธ At iCode, we know that early childhood play is the absolute best foundation for future STEAM learning. The way a toddler explores a new environment or figures out how to put a craft together is the exact same logic process an older student uses to write a line of code! Here is how we build on that early curiosity:

  • ๐Ÿงธ Playful Foundations, Real Skills: Today itโ€™s story time and crafts at the museum; tomorrow itโ€™s our STEAM Junior Program. We meet our youngest learners (ages 5+) right where they are, introducing them to logic and problem-solving through Snap Circuits, tactile robotics, and beginner-friendly block coding.

  • ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Creative + Tech Fusion: Thematic activity stations and take-home crafts teach kids about shapes, colors, and building. As kids grow with iCode, we connect those same creative concepts to our 2D & 3D Design tracks, turning their early art skills into real-world digital prototypes and 3D-printed creations.

  • โš™๏ธ Cause & Effect: Exploring a museum gallery teaches young children how to interact with the world around them. In our early coding and robotics classes, kids learn how to translate that physical interaction into technology, figuring out how to make a robot move or a digital character jump!

Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿš€ Start with a magical morning of exploration at the State Museum, then bring that curiosity to iCode Princeton where we turn early childhood wonder into real-world tech skills!
