Why we love it 💛 May the 4th be with you! To celebrate Star Wars Day, the Princeton Public Library is hosting a phenomenal hands-on engineering event in their Spark Lab. Guided by Princeton High School eSTEAM students, early elementary kids will learn the basic mechanics of electrical circuits to construct and light up their very own paper lightsabers! We absolutely love seasonal, pop-culture-themed events like this because they capture kids’ imaginations and show them that electrical engineering isn’t just a textbook concept—it’s how their favorite sci-fi movie props actually work!

• Electrical Engineering: Before you can program a device, it needs power! In our Robotics and Hardware Tracks, we teach kids the exact same principles of electrical flow, grounding, and circuitry using snap circuits, breadboards, and LED lights.

• The Maker Mindset: Turning a piece of paper and a copper wire into a glowing lightsaber requires a strong “Maker Mindset.” We teach our students to look at everyday materials and understand how they can be combined, powered, and programmed to create something entirely new.
