Why we love it π Kids learn best when they learn from each other! The Princeton Public Library is hosting a fantastic block-coding session led by “Byte Budz,” a group of highly talented local teen coders. Early elementary students will be guided through interactive lessons and coding activities by high school mentors. We absolutely love peer-led events because seeing an older student successfully writing code is the ultimate inspiration for a young child just starting their tech journey!
How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πβοΈ Programming is a team sport!
-
Block-Based Logic: Moving digital blocks to create an action is the very first step in algorithmic thinking. In our STEAM Junior and Scratch Tracks, we use this exact same visual approach to teach early learners how sequences, loops, and conditional statements work before they ever have to type a line of syntax.
-
Collaboration & Mentorship: At iCode, we emphasize “Pair Programming” and collaborative problem-solving. We actively encourage our advanced students to mentor newer students because explaining a coding concept to someone else is the absolute best way to master it yourself!
Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode ππ Learn the basics at the library, then bring that world-class creativity to iCode Princeton where we turn block-coding into advanced software engineering!
