Why iCode Princeton ❤️ this event 🛠️ Makers Day is the ultimate statewide celebration of creativity, tinkering, and engineering, and that’s exactly our jam! We love community events that encourage kids to roll up their sleeves, get a little messy, and build something from scratch. Whether they are designing their own custom slime at the Lawrence Branch, coding mTiny robots at Robbinsville, or tackling the marshmallow and toothpick building challenges at the Hickory Corner Open House, it’s all about curiosity-first discovery.

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ The library’s hands-on Makers Day activities are the perfect launchpad for the tech skills we teach in our studios:

• From Slime to Science: Mixing up the perfect slime recipe at the Lawrence Branch is all about chemistry, iteration, and testing! We use that exact same trial-and-error mindset in our STEAM Junior track, where young learners explore cause-and-effect with Snap Circuits and introductory block coding.

• Coding in the Real World: Playing with mTiny robots at the library? That’s the perfect on-ramp to iCode’s robotics paths! As kids grow, we level up those basic commands into our VEX Robotics programs, where they design, build, and program complex robots for real-world challenges.

• Engineering & Building: The library’s marshmallow and pasta tower challenges teach structural integrity and design thinking. We scale that concept up in our 2D & 3D Design and 3D Printing modules, taking kids from simple structural building to professional CAD modeling and real-world prototyping.
