Why we love it 💛 Science isn’t just done behind a computer screen, it happens out in the wild! The Watershed Institute in Pennington is hosting an incredible, free family event to celebrate World Water Day. Kids and parents can participate in hands-on activities, learn about renewable energy from industry leaders, take a blind taste test of local waters, and even hike out to see the fascinating habitats of the vernal pools. We absolutely love any event that gets kids outdoors and shows them how science, technology, and conservation are used to protect our planet!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ Modern environmental science relies completely on technology, data collection, and coding! When your child is ready to bring their love for the outdoors into the tech lab, here is how we bridge the gap between nature and computer science:

• 📊 Data Science for the Planet: Tracking water quality or climate changes requires analyzing massive amounts of data. In our advanced Python and Java Belts, older students learn how to write the exact code that environmental scientists use to build analytical models and solve complex global problems.

• ♻️ Systems & Logic: Understanding how a water cycle or a habitat connects is a perfect exercise in logic! In our STEAM Junior Program, we teach our youngest learners the same cause-and-effect concepts through beginner-friendly block coding and physical Snap Circuits.

• ⚙️ The Tech Behind Renewable Energy: The event features exhibits on renewable energy, which is entirely powered by hardware and engineering! In our VEX Robotics and Advanced Hardware tracks, kids get hands-on experience wiring, building, and programming physical technology that interacts with the real world.
