Why we love it 💛 The best inventions are the ones built specifically for someone you care about! Terhune Orchards is hosting a heartwarming “Make ‘n Take” event where kids can roll up their sleeves and build a custom, farm-themed craft and homemade card for their dad, grandpa, or uncle. We absolutely love custom crafting events because they naturally shift a child’s perspective. Instead of just building something for themselves, they have to ask, “What does my dad like? What colors would he want?”—which is the ultimate empathy-building exercise!

• User Experience (UX) Design: When a software engineer builds a new app, they don’t build it for themselves; they build it for the “End User.” In our Web Development and Digital Design Tracks, we teach kids this exact empathetic logic! They learn how to design intuitive, user-friendly software by constantly considering how another person will interact with their digital product.

• Graphic Design & Asset Creation: Hand-drawing the layout of a physical card is the analog version of Graphic Design! In our Digital Arts Tracks, we teach older students how to transition these creative skills to the screen. They learn how to use professional software to manipulate color palettes, typography, and digital vectors to create custom graphics and printable digital assets.
