Why we love it ๐ Every great software developer started out as a kid who just loved playing video games! The Princeton Public Library is opening up its high-tech Spark Lab for an amazing, social gaming hour. Upper elementary students are invited to drop in and play new Nintendo Switch 2 games alongside their peers. We absolutely love social gaming events like this because they take an activity that is normally done alone at home and turn it into a highly collaborative, community-building experience where kids can bond over their shared love of tech!

Game Mechanics & UI/UX: When kids play on a Nintendo Switch, they are actively experiencing “User Interface” and “Game Mechanics.” They learn what makes a level too hard, too easy, or incredibly fun. In our Game Design and Roblox Tracks, we teach kids how to reverse-engineer these exact concepts, transitioning them from passive consumers of media into active, logical digital creators!

Coding the Controllers: Moving a character on screen requires complex background logic. We teach our students the foundational languages (like Lua and C#) required to map physical button presses to digital actions, allowing them to build and publish their very own playable video games!
