Why we love it π Music is just math and physics that you can hear! The Princeton Public Library is hosting a phenomenal live presentation by the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Members of the PSO string section will explore the unique sounds, frequencies, and mechanics of the violin, viola, cello, and bass. We absolutely love live music events for STEM-focused kids because they transform invisible concepts, like sound waves, vibration, and frequency, into a beautiful, highly tangible auditory experience!

Digital Audio & Frequencies: When a cello string vibrates, it creates a physical sound wave. In computer science, we capture those waves and turn them into digital data! In our Digital Arts and YouTube Creator Tracks, we teach kids the science behind audio engineering, showing them how to use software to balance frequencies, edit wavelengths, and produce crystal-clear digital sound.

Game Audio Design: A video game without sound is only half the experience. We teach our older students in the Unreal Engine and Game Design Tracks how to map audio files to digital triggers. When a player jumps, a sound effect plays! Understanding real-world instruments gives students the creative ear they need to score their own virtual worlds.
