Why we love it πŸ’› History meets hands-on engineering! The Historical Society of Princeton is hosting its highly anticipated “Building Princeton” event in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Working in teams led by architect Stephen W. Schwartz, kids and families will use historical photographs to recreate iconic local structures out of LEGO building blocks. Once finished, the models are placed on a massive 30-foot map of Princeton to create a stunning aerial view! We absolutely love architectural maker events because they teach kids how to reverse-engineer physical designs, translating 2D images into tangible, 3D construction.

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ Physical architecture is the foundation of 3D modeling!

  • Structural Engineering: Before you can build a robot, you need to understand how pieces lock together to create a sturdy frame. In our Robotics and Hardware Tracks, we teach kids the exact same principles of structural integrity using LEGO, motors, and snap circuits!

  • 3D Design & Rendering: Recreating a physical building requires immense spatial reasoning. We teach our older students in the Unreal Engine and Roblox Tracks how to take architectural concepts and build them digitally, creating highly detailed 3D structures, maps, and worlds inside their own video games.

Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Engineer a historic masterpiece at the farmstead, then bring that world-class curiosity to iCode Princeton where we teach you how to digitize it!
