πŸ€– Clash of the Bots: FIRST Robotics Montgomery District Event + iCode! βš‘πŸ› οΈ

Event: FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) – FMA District Montgomery Event

When: Friday, April 10 – Sunday, April 12, 2026

Where: Montgomery Township High School (1016 Route 601, Skillman, NJ)

Event link: FIRST Robotics – NJSKI Event

Who it’s for: Families, Tech Enthusiasts, and Future Engineers of all ages!

Why we love it πŸ’› If your family has never been to a high school robotics competition, you are missing out on one of the most high-energy sporting events of the year! High school teams from all over the FIRST Mid-Atlantic districtβ€”including amazing local teams from Skillman, Pennington, and Princetonβ€”will be competing in intense arena matches using industrial-sized, custom-built robots. The atmosphere in the gymnasium is electric, the engineering is mind-blowing, and it is the absolute best way to show your child that being a “tech kid” is basically a superpower!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ The massive robots you see on the competition floor didn’t build themselvesβ€”they were designed, wired, and programmed entirely by students! At iCode, we are actively training the next generation of competitive robotics engineers:

  • βš™οΈ Real Hardware, Real Code: In our VEX Robotics track, kids learn the exact same mechanical engineering and programming foundations used by high school robotics teams. They start by building custom chassis and progress to writing the Python and C++ code needed to make the robots navigate an arena autonomously.

  • 🀝 Teamwork & Troubleshooting: Robotics is not a solo sport! In our STEAM After-School Belt Program, students learn how to collaborate, test, fail, and troubleshoot as a team. We teach the resilience and rapid problem-solving skills needed to win under pressure.

  • πŸ’‘ The Maker Mindset: FRC teams operate like mini tech startups. They have to prototype, iterate, and refine their designs. We instill this exact mindset in our labs, teaching kids how to take an idea from a whiteboard sketch to a fully functioning prototype.

Join the funβ€”then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Start by spending the weekend cheering on the brilliant student engineers at this local robotics competition, then bring that world-changing energy to iCode Princeton where we turn big ideas into real-world tech skills!
