Who it’s for: Kids in Grades 3–5

Why we love it 💛 There is no better way to introduce kids to engineering than by learning from older peers! The SCLSNJ Montgomery Branch is hosting a fantastic, hands-on “Introduction to LEGO Robotics” workshop specifically for upper elementary students. Led by high school students and members of RoboReach, kids will get to see a live demonstration of a LEGO Spike Prime robot and dive into interactive activities. We absolutely love youth-led STEM events because seeing an older student master hardware gives younger kids the confidence to dive into robotics themselves!

• Hardware & Circuitry: Before a robot can drive, it needs a structurally sound chassis. In our Robotics and Hardware Tracks, we teach kids the exact same principles of mechanical engineering using physical motors, sensors, and snap circuits to bring their creations to life.

• Visual Block Coding: A robot won’t move until you give it instructions! We teach our students how to use visual block-coding to snap commands together—just like LEGO bricks—ensuring their robotic projects execute their commands perfectly every single time.
