Why we love it 💛 Engineering isn’t just for humans—it’s for our feathered friends, too! The Princeton Public Library’s incredible “eSTEAM Club” is hosting an after-school session dedicated to avian ecology. Guided by local high school mentors from Princeton High School, early elementary students will learn about the vital role birds play in our local environment before engineering their very own DIY bird feeders out of recycled materials. We absolutely love this event because it combines environmental science with hands-on mechanical building, showing kids that they can use their creativity and engineering skills to help nature thrive!

• Inputs, Outputs, and Algorithms: In nature, a bird feeder dispensing seeds (Input) attracts local wildlife (Output). In our STEAM Junior Program, we teach kids how to apply this exact same logic to technology! They learn how computers process small inputs (like pressing a button) to create big, predictable digital reactions.

• Tech for Good: At iCode, we want our students to realize that technology and engineering are tools meant to solve real-world problems. By building eco-friendly projects, kids learn the empathy and sustainable design-thinking required to be true innovators who can build hardware to protect the planet!
