Why we love it πŸ’› Cooking is the original “Maker” activity! The Ewing Branch is bringing hands-on culinary fun to the library with “Country Cooks,” a special morning session led by Ms. Sue. Little ones and their caregivers will team up to mix, measure, and create something delicious together. We absolutely love early culinary classes because they are deeply sensory experiences. Kids get to touch, smell, and see how individual ingredients transform into a completely new creation, building immense confidence and fine motor control along the way!

How this event aligns with iCode Princeton πŸŒˆβš™οΈ Before kids can build complex robots or type lines of code, they need to master the physical world around them!

  • Tactile Learning: Pouring flour, stirring a bowl, and pinching salt all develop crucial fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. In our STEAM Junior Program, we rely on this exact same tactile learning! We use snap circuits, building blocks, and physical puzzles so young children can touch and feel the logic before they ever look at a screen.

  • The “Maker” Mindset: A kitchen is just a laboratory with tastier results! By combining ingredients to see what happens, young children are experimenting and practicing early scientific observation. At iCode, we nurture this exact same curiosity, encouraging kids to tinker, test, and build their own digital and physical projects without the fear of making a mess!

Join the funβ€”then keep the momentum going at iCode πŸŽ’πŸš€ Put on your chef’s hat at the library, then bring that world-class creativity to iCode Princeton where we turn early sensory play into lifelong tech skills!
