Event: LEGO® Fun
When: Wednesday, May 13, 2026, 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Registration opens April 15)
Where: SCLSNJ Watchung Branch – 20 Stirling Road (Watchung, NJ)
Event link: SCLSNJ Watchung Events
Who it’s for: Kids in Grades K–5
Why we love it 💛 There’s no such thing as too much LEGO building! The SCLSNJ Watchung Branch is hosting a fast-paced, highly creative 30-minute block-building session for elementary students. Kids are invited to bring their imaginations, snap together some bricks, and tackle hands-on structural challenges. We absolutely love quick, focused maker events like this because they encourage rapid prototyping—forcing kids to think on their feet, test their ideas quickly, and build without the fear of making mistakes!
How this event aligns with iCode Princeton 🌈⚙️ Physical building blocks are the foundation of 3D digital architecture!
-
The “Maker Mindset”: Whether you are snapping plastic bricks together or writing a script in Python, the problem-solving loop is exactly the same! At iCode, we teach our students the “Maker Mindset”—the ability to brainstorm a concept, build a physical or digital prototype, test it out, and improve it.
-
Spatial Logic: Every time a child builds a physical structure, they are actively developing their 3D spatial awareness. We take this exact same spatial logic and teach early learners how to map it onto a digital screen, preparing them for advanced 3D modeling and robotics in our upper-level labs!
Join the fun, then keep the momentum going at iCode 🎒🚀 Build a masterpiece at the library, then bring that world-class curiosity to iCode Princeton where we turn physical prototyping into lifelong tech innovation!
