Plan it, film it, cut it

Your child stops scrolling and starts producing. A storyboard, a camera, an edit, and a finished video with their name on it.

Ages 7–15 · ten students to a room · 73 Central Street, Wellesley

Three semesters a year: Fall, Winter and Spring. You pay for the semester you’re in, and nothing renews on its own.

The three levels

Your child starts where they are and moves when they’re ready. Nobody repeats a year, and nobody’s stuck in a class that has run out of things to teach them.

Kids learn to plan, film and edit their own short videos: storyboards, camera angles, cutting clips and adding sound. No experience needed.

Better stories, better editing. Students work on scripting, pacing, graphics and sound, and study why some videos hold attention while others lose it fast.

Students plan and produce a series instead of a single video. They run the whole production themselves, from the first idea and script to the final edit.

Levels 101 and 102 have a set day this Fall. The rest start once a group forms, and you can hold a seat now. Not sure which one fits? Book a free evaluation and we’ll place your child.

What school doesn’t have time for

School teaches the concepts. We teach your child how to use them.

A classroom has thirty children and a syllabus to finish. We have ten and an afternoon. So your child builds the thing, breaks it, fixes it, and explains what they did.

One question a session

AI can write the code. It can’t decide what to build, or tell you when the answer is wrong. That’s the part we teach.

Every session opens with one thinking question on the board. Make it smaller. Where have I seen this before? Would a robot understand this? It takes two minutes, and it’s the habit that outlasts the subject.

Your child can use AI after they have tried it themselves and can tell us what they tried. Anything AI helped with, they have to explain. Copy and paste with no explanation isn’t finished work.

Who teaches your child

Our instructors are college graduates with computer science backgrounds. They studied this. So when your child asks the question that isn’t in the lesson plan, they get a real answer.

Thinking about the Belt Program instead?

YouTube Path Belt Program
Time 1 hour a week 2 hours, plus 2 on a Saturday
Shape One topic, one semester Ten belts, ten months each
What comes home What they built Monthly report, portfolio, transcript
Saturday STEAM Study Lab None Included, two hours a month
Price $445 a semester $425 a month

Ten hours a semester at $445 works out at $44.50 an hour. A Belt is ten hours a month (eight in class plus a two-hour Study Lab) at $425, which is $42.50 an hour. The Belt costs less per hour, and it’s the only one that’s written down.

Questions parents ask

My child has never done this. Which level?

Level 101. It says no experience needed and it means it. The only thing your child needs is something they want to make a video about. Not sure? Book a free evaluation and we’ll place them.

How does my child move up a level?

When the instructor thinks they are ready, and not before. There’s no test and nothing is marked. We don’t grade. No scores, no pass, no fail.

What happens on a day off school?

We run. A single day off school isn’t a day off Path. We skip Thanksgiving week, and we are closed 24 December to 7 January.

Can my child take two Paths at once?

Yes, if the times don’t clash. The second one is $375. Call the campus on 781-291-3131 and we’ll check the schedule with you.

Does it carry on after December?

There are three semesters: Fall, Winter and Spring. Nothing renews on its own. Every family chooses again each semester.
