Does my child need experience to join a club?

No. Every club has an Introduction or Foundation track built for complete beginners. Students enter at whatever level matches their experience rather than their age, and we place them after a free evaluation rather than guessing from a form.

Isn’t this just playing video games?

It is a fair question and worth answering properly. We use the games children already care about as a doorway into real skills. In Minecraft they are building Redstone logic circuits, which is genuinely circuit logic. In Roblox they are writing Lua, a real programming language. Every session pairs a concept with a hands-on build, and students have to explain what they made and why it works.

What have your students won awards in?

Scratch and Python programming, and robotics competitions including FIRST LEGO League and VEX — Judges Award wins and state finals. We have also been a Boston Parents Family Favorite every year from 2020 to 2026.

Can my child move between clubs?

Yes, and many do. A Minecraft builder often moves into Roblox. Scratch graduates step up into Python. The progression map shows how the paths connect, and our instructors will tell you when they think a student is ready to move.

When do clubs meet, and how long is a term?

Clubs run during the school year, one hour a week, at 73 Central Street, Wellesley. Each club has its own day and time — most run weekday afternoons from 3:30 pm, and Coding runs Saturdays at 2:00 pm. They run September 2026 to June 2027, and each club has a fixed start date between 21 and 26 September. Camps cover the summer and school breaks.

What does a term cost?

$199 a month, one hour a week. You pay for ten months, September to June — July and August are not billed. Taking a second club at the same time? $180 a month for each extra one. Nothing renews on its own in September; every family chooses again each year.

What if we miss a week?

Tell us in advance and we will place your child in another group that week where the schedule allows. Massachusetts vacation weeks are already excluded from the published term dates.

How big are the groups?

Clubs run in larger groups than the Belt Program, which caps at about six. Exact numbers vary by club and age band — ask us for the current figure for the club you are considering; we will tell you the real one.

Do you run clubs at both locations?

Yes. Wellesley and Brookline each run the full lineup with their own schedule. This page is for Wellesley; the other campus has its own dates and openings.

How is a club different from the Belt Program?

A club is one hour a week, in a larger group, focused on one topic. The Belt Program is two hours a week across a ten-month year, in a group of about six, with a written progress report every month and a capstone project. AI Studio is one hour a week, self-paced, with the work tuned to your child by their instructor. Plenty of students do more than one.
